Having been working on the new edition of the Francisco Tárrega International Guitar Competition of Benicàssim, and due to the crisis and uncertainty generated by the Covid-19, in the current situation and the future prospect, the Organizing Commision has taken the sad decision to cancel the LIV year’s Edition of the Francisco Tárrega International Guitar Competition.
There are more important challenges that lie ahead, but we know that the Contest plays an important role in the cultural and social life of our city, province and country.
We greatly regret this cancellation, but we will continue to work to make the 2021 Contest a cultural event where musical performance, diffusion of the guitar and Master Tárrega’s music, continues to be, again, a meeting place for music lovers and guitarists from all over the world.
Therefore, while we observe our essential social distancing, we hope to be able to be together again in Benicàssim and share the music and performances by the greatest young guitarists of our time. Until then.
